I’ve made to the end of week 1 of the #31Writenow challenge. Whew…..

Since it’s the weekend, I figured I’d share a little bit about my weekly facial masques. I sometimes do a Bentonite Clay masque by itself, but other times (more often than not) I add a bit of turmeric to it. Bentonite clay works well on its own, but I’ve never had issues with adding turmeric.

Why Turmeric, you ask?

Tumeric has numerous benefits including increasing your skin’s elasticity, brightening your complexion, reducing wrinkles and inhibiting facial hair growth. I wouldn’t recommend consistently putting the masque on your eyebrows if you want to keep them.

I can honestly say that with consistent use, turmeric delivers!  My facial masques in conjunction with the Complexion and Toning Bar from Bobeam Facial Line, and drinking lemon/cucumber water has been helping to clear up most of the blemishes I had from a recent acne episode *insert side eye here*

I tend to experiment a little with my Masque but this recipe is pretty standard and it’s the one I used in the pic above.

  • Turmeric (1/4 tsp)
  • 1/4 tsp Gram flour (aka Garbonzo Or Chickpea flour)
  • Milk, Honey and Almond oil to make a paste.
  • *Oats* Optional

I leave it on for 15 mins and rinse with warm water. If your skin is oily, you can substitute the Milk for lemon juice.

Have you ever tried turmeric for skin care?
