This past weekend, the official awards ceremony for the Black Weblog Awards took place in Austin. The Awards was the culmination of the 2015 Blogging While Brown Conference. I’ll be sharing a recap of the conference soon so stay tuned for that post 🙂
I attend a lot of events and I’ve received a lot of feedback and requests to see “what I wore”, so here are the deets on the blue midi tulle skirt that I wore to the Black Weblog Awards.

Now on to my outfit deets 🙂
As mentioned in my previous “what I wore” post, I love blue. I honestly didn’t plan to wear blue but I think this look worked out perfectly, for me. 🙂
My “top” in this look is actually a crochet & tulle little black dress from Forever 21. It has been sitting in my closet for almost 2 years.
I decided to pair it with a tulle skirt to give the effect of a fuller, (longer) skirt. I had originally planned to pair it with my black tulle skirt, but the blue added the perfect pop of color. The island girl in me just has to have her color 🙂
I get most of my tulle skirts from Windsor store and I copped this blue one for 50% (less than $20). They also come in yellow, red, neon green and a range of other colors.
Speaking of color, my fellow island girl Eva of SocaMom wore this AMAZING creation that I was swooning over all evening. Don’t be surprised if you see me in something similar soon. As I told her “I have to have it” 🙂
