Even though the calendar has just *officially* caught up with the temperatures, summer has been in full swing for me. By now I probably sound like a broken record about the fact that I love bold, vibrant colors. I actually recall a time in my life when I mainly wore black, brown and nudes. I was in my early twenties and I think I was trying to blend in, because I didn’t really like to be in the spotlight.
To be honest I still don’t really like the spotlight, but once I discovered the magic of color, there was no turning back. As with every year, this year will be a summer of lots of color. For the final installment of my #prepforsummer collaboration with Weight Watchers® Ice Cream, I used my favorite Dark Chocolate Raspberry Ice Cream bars as inspiration for what I’m calling my “summer of color” palette/mood board.
My husband & I have literally gone through quite a few boxes of these ice cream bars because they are just so good (and better for you at only 3 SmartPoints™ and 60 calories per bar), and they help to keep us cool on those 100° days we’ve been having. Not only is color a symbol of summer, but I have found that I’m actually in a better mood when I incorporate color. I’m sure there is some scientific connection but I’m no psychologist so I can only go by what I’ve experienced. 🙂
As you can see from my palette, there are lots of pink, blue, green and orange with splashes of yellow. Like I always say, the brighter the better.
