How One Small Act of Kindness Made a HUGE Difference for Me

With the Orlando mass shooting, the tragic death of the child at Disney World, and the sadness that has fallen across the nation in the past few days, it can be a lot to deal with. As someone who’s work can entail a lot of time on social media, it can definitely take a toll on you. I wanted to share a positive experience that I had about two weeks about how one small act of kindness made a huge difference for me.

I mentioned in this post that I was having a bit of a Murphy’s Law moment about a week and a half ago. Well actually it was more like an entire day. All around me, things were just going wrong. From a random dental issue, to customer order issues on Ven & Rose, to computer issues.  You name it, it was happening all at the same, on a Monday. I have gotten better at being *calm* under pressure, so I decided to take a break to do one of my favorite things. I decided to check my mailbox. Yes, I’m one of those people who love receiving mail 🙂

I first met Lina (left) exactly a year ago at Dallas Curlfriend’s brunch. Fast forward to this year when started working together as she officially launched her curated, faith based gift box brand Timely Grace.  

A few days before Murphy’s Law decided to go into full effect, Lina sent me a message indicating that I should check my mailbox in the next few days. I knew something was coming, but I had no idea WHAT.

I posted the entire unboxing experience on my Snapchat but I was so overwhelmed by the contents of the box, that I forget to take a (proper) pic of the packaging and the beautifully wrapped box I received.

It was literally the most timely gift I have ever received. It’s as if God was saying, “See I sent help. Everything will be ok”. I love the fact that the box was customized (including hand written prayers) just for me. You can’t see it from the photo, but my name is also printed in gold on the other side of the jar. The gift box included a journal, a devotional CD, a scent pack and a super cute mug. Tears were shed.
