Happy Friday! I hope you all had a great week.

Summer is the perfect time to set out on new adventures and explore new places. Last weekend, hubby and I spent a few hours picking blueberries. Sure, you can go buy blueberries at the store, but this was a really fun experience, plus I think they taste better when you pick them yourself 🙂
Despite the fact that it was close to 100 degrees, we made the hour plus drive to a small town called Edom, TX.

 “Pick N Edom” 🙂
We got a crash course in “Berry Picking 101” from a fellow (experienced) picker at Blueberry Hills Farm, and we were on our way. It was slow going at first, but we soon got the hang of it.

Note to self: Wear long sleeves next time
After an hour and fifteen minutes of picking (and some eating) we were ready to go. It was just too hot to stay out there, but together we managed to pick 2 lbs of blueberries.

We also indulged in some of the delicacies available on the farm, including homemade Blueberry ice cream which was DELISH, Blueberry Lemonade and numerous samples of butters and preserves. We eventually purchased some Pumpkin butter which is heavenly.

This was definitely a day well spent. Hopefully we’ll be able to squeeze in some more adventures before the summer is over. 🙂

Do you have any summer adventures planned? Feel free to share in the comments.

Until next time
