I received some of the Heart of Haiti items pictured from Everywhere Agency to facilitate this post. All opinions are mine and my love for giving back is genuine 🙂

Gifts that Give Hope | Heart of HaitiBy now I probably sound like a broken record, but Giving Back is very important to me. This time of the year, we give and receive lots of gifts. Heart of Haiti at Macys is one of those gifts that truly gives back, by giving hope to the Haitian artisans.

What is Heart of Haiti
Macy’s
went to Haiti shortly after the January 12, 2010 earthquake and realized that despite the devastation there was an artist community that existed and was eager to bring their product to market. heart-of-haiti-holiday-giftsWhy Shop the Heart of Haiti Collection?

When you employ one artist in Haiti, the entire community benefits. Over 500 artists are employed and the initiative benefits over 3,000 members of the artists’ extended families.

To put this into perspective, the average Haitian’s annual income is only $400 – for a year!  Add to that, Haiti has an estimated 400,000 artisans (out of a 10M population) who rely solely on their handcrafted goods as a sourceof income. No other sector of employment even approaches such numbers.

The items that I own from the collection are beautiful and well made, but it feels great to know that I’m supporting others as well.

Many of the items are currently marked down and you can save an extra 15% off, that’s definitely a win-win scenario. 🙂

Beautiful! What a great way to support artists from Haiti. Our church has supported mission work in Haiti for years. My husband travels to Haiti and helps our Haitian pastor friend from time to time, but we give financial support to ongoing work in Haiti on a monthly basis. Thanks, Macy’s, for giving back!

I think these pieces are stunning! I would buy that vase in a second. The candle is also lovely. I give back to World Vision Canada because I travelled with them and I know the amazing work they do in over 90 countries.

Thanks so much for sharing, I love buying Christmas presents that #giveback. For the longest time I’ve been upset that I don’t have a Macy’s nearby (although I do love online shopping, you do what you gotta’ do!) but my mother-in-law mentioned they have one in her town now (about 1hr away). Would be a great shopping trip!

The Hearts of Haiti collection is so beautiful and inspirational. If a major corp like Macys can support a small island like Haiti, imagine what we can all do collectively! I love this whole concept.
I have friends who were affected by the hurricane and who have since started business and bought businesses to Haiti. Haiti is truly a beautiful country and the place where

I absolutely love these pieces and what Macy is doing to help support these hardworking artisans. As someone raising children who are half-Haitian, I will definitely be shopping from Macy’s Heart of Haiti line and encouraging my friends and family to do the same. This is powerful and a continuous learning opportunity to share with our children as well.

It is important to teach our children to give to others when they are young so that giving to others becomes a part of who they are as people. This will make the world better for all of us.
