While my mini twist out turned out great and could have lasted all week, but I felt like I had put my hair through enough withdrawal, so it was time for a pampering session.

I started off with a pre-poo/hot oil treatment with a mixture of Coconut, Argan, Castor, Sweet Almond and Rosemary oils.  I used my fingers to remove as much shed hair as possible, and then coated my hair with my Trader Joes Tea Tree Tingle conditioner. This stuff is AWESOME! It was uber thick so I had to dilute it with water.

One month’s worth of shed Hair & My scalp scrub

The mix of conditioner and oils and my new “detangling brush” made the detangling session almost a breeze. It did take me a while to get used to the motion of the brush, but so far I like it, because it did not feel like it was ripping my hair out. I followed up by an exfoliating scalp scrub made of brown sugar and olive oil. I added a little bit of conditioner to my hands before massaging my scalp.

I decided to do the scrub because I had not washed my hair for an entire month. If I was doing a Rhassoul clay treatment, which I would normally do to detox, I would have omitted it.

In an effort to kill injure the product stash, I  followed up by washing with Shea Radiance Maximum Moisture Shampoo (Sulphate Free) that I got in a giveaway set….ummmm, no, not a fan. Despite the fact that my hair was uber dirty and loaded with conditioner and oils, this stuff made my hair very close to squeaky…no bueno.

My Trader Joe’s Nourish Spa quickly remedied that situation. I love this stuff as well. It is uber moisturizing and has lots of slip! I used the Shea Radiance Maximum Moisture Conditioner to deep condition. It was ok. I wasn’t really wowed.

I followed up by moisturizing and sealing. I used Shea Moisture Restorative Conditioner as a Leave in…Coconut oil mixed with Castor Oil to seal that in, and Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Masque as my Cream/styler. I did put a bit of a pomade that I’m reviewing on my ends as well.

Whew…that was a lot of stuff, but my hair is a happy camper once again.

How do you pamper your hair? Please feel free to share below.

Until next time
