In case I’ve never said it….I LOVE the versatility and unpredictability (sometimes) of my natural hair. For this weekend’s adventure, I decided to try out Shea Moisture’s Curling Souffle despite the not so great reviews. I like to see how products work for myself and I wasn’t too worried if it turned out to be a bust because I got it on sale at Walgreens.
I didn’t really follow the directions (to use on clean hair) because I lightly misted my hair with water and flat twisted my blown out out hair which already had product on it. A friend of my facebook page told me about the issues she had with her hair taking a LONG time to dry, so I sat under my hooded dryer for all of 20 minutes before going to bed.
Needless to say, more than 8 hours later it still was not dry! All that great flat twisting for NOTHING! 🙂 I did get to see how much better the shape of my hair was since I trimmed and cut about 2 inches off the back.
To make matters worse, it rained, so by the end of the day, my hair looked like a mushroom….a SOFT, fluffy mushroom at that. I didn’t get much of the stickiness that people complained about. To me it felt like when I’d spritz my hair with glycerine and water in my TWA days. I’ll do a full review after I’ve had time to fully test the souffle under different conditions 🙂
On Friday night , I spritzed with water and retwisted hoping for a DRY flat twist out for my friend’s graduation ceremony. It just was not meant to be, because my hair remained “moist” AND it rained. I loved my shrunken fro though. Surprisingly, I got quite a few “how DID you get your hair to look like that?” questions. Go figure…..
By Sunday, my hair was on it’s last leg and still very soft, but a good wash was needed. I pinned it up the sides for church but I don’t have any ‘blog worthy” pics to show 🙂
How did you wear your hair this weekend? I’d love to hear of your “adventures”
Until next time
lol….thanks so much. ☺
