“If at first you don’t succeed, try and try and TRY again”. Yep, that’s me, all day everyday..most of the time. Although I have my moments, I generally don’t like to give up…especially on something like my hair. I refuse to get beaten by some hair…lol.
Cornrow out attempt – March 2012 |
I first attempted a “cornrow out” back in March, but I never posted about it on here partly because it was a “hot fail” (except for that one piece in the front), since my hair did not dry completely. I ended up pinning it up.
Fast forward 5 months later, and I decided to revisit it. I had my first co-hosting role at the Bella Kinks meetup and I wanted to put my best hair forward. After all, I couldn’t show up with my hair looking all “funny” (the word my hubby uses to describe hairstyles that are a fail/he doesn’t like :)).
I was going to do a flat twist out like the one I did here, but I’m much better at cornrowing than I am at flat twisting (another technique I refuse to give up on), so I decided to go with the former.
The two pics on the bottom right were taken 7 hours after I undid the cornrow 🙂 |
I used Bee Mine Curly Butter on semi damp hair because I wanted a full, fluffy look. I really like the way it turned out, and I humbly admit that the pictures do not show how great it turned out IMO. Have no fear, because I recorded a video of me doing them.
Have you ever tried a cornrow out? How did it turn out?
Until next time
