This past week, a friend and I were chatting about a situation that he was worried about. He was anxious about the outcome of the situation and couldn’t stop thinking about it. He also said that he “trusts God to work it out”…..
I said to him “trust or worry, you can’t do both, so choose one”….(Something I have to CONSTANTLY remind myself about)

Worry can literally make us sick. It affects our physical and spiritual well being but sadly we do it anyway. How many times have we prayed about something, asked God to work it out and turned around and worried about it?

We all know the verses…..

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6

Do not seek what you will eat and what you will drink, and do not keep worrying. For all these things the nations of the world eagerly seek; but your Father knows that you need these things.” Luke 12:29-30

In short, worry and faith do not mix. When we worry, we focus on the immediate rather than on the promises of God. I recently saw a t-shirt that read “Don’t worry, trust God. He’s gonna be up all night anyway.”  I don’t know about you but I like my sleep. 🙂

The bottom line is that God does not forget his promises and NOTHING catches him by surprise…..

So are you gonna TRUST or WORRY? It’s your choice….

Until next time….

thank you! i have a testimony regarding it actually. I just committed to God and asked for favor, protection and His peace after realizing I was letting worry overtake me. The person called a few days later and told me to not worry about the scratch at all! He was actually insanely nice, I was so surprised!!! I had forgotten about the info on the note by that point. A couple minutes after he hung up, he called me and told me if i needed the letter I wrote the note on and I said no, he said Ok, i’ll just tear it up and throw it away!

You don’t know how much I was relieved. I just immediately praised God because I knew He saw my fears and heard my prayers. When I told others about it, they were very surprised to hear what the man had said and how nice he was. God is wonderful, there is nothing in our lives that is too small or inconsequential to Him. I have so many testimonies like this (but yet i still worry so much sometimes *sigh*) and it just makes me shout with joy to God’s great love.

🙁 i made a really stupid mistake…i want to share it with someone. I ran into a parked car on a street earlier today and left a note with my number and apologizing for what I did. I was JUST about to fall asleep when I realized in my haze of panic and fear, I used a paper with my mailing address and full name on the front to leave the note for the person! ..all I could do is worry that first they’ll try to screw me over with trying to pay for their car damage and even worse that they have my PERSONAL information. I wish I’d read this years ago because I’ve been robbed of sleep because of my worrying. Thanks for this post, it’s so encouraging.

I love this! It’s so true. We don’t think of worry as sin, but anything outside of faith is sin. I am so grateful for the grace of our heavenly Father, and His faithfulness, even if we choose to worry. He always brings us back to Him.

As with the other two ladies who expressed their “need” I too needed this.
God is good and will CONTINUE to be good.

Vee, continue to be an inspiration to others. 🙂

Sister, I needed to haer this. “Nothing catches God by surprise”

You are so right. It is all in his hands. He knows our needs and he has promised to never leave us nor forsake us.

    God bless you!!
