I made it! I blogged for 30 consecutive days (well 29, because I missed Day 14 but….).

After the first week of the challenge, I questioned my decision a little. It’s not that I don’t know how long it takes to do create a blogpost, not including picture taking and editing, but this really magnified it.
I’m usually pretty organized, but this challenge really put my skills to the test. In addition to preparing blogposts, and life responsibilities,  the challenge also happened when I was knee deep in planning Natural Hair All-Star weekend:Dallas.  What was I thinking? It was definitely a challenge to come up with new, interesting content on the days I didn’t get to plan in advance, but I’m happy I stuck with it.

A Few Takeaways
* I’m a lot more creative than I thought. At the beginning of the challenge, I mentioned being stuck in a slight rut. I think I’ve gotten my groove back and I have tons of ideas about the direction I want the blog to go.* I also learnt that I can do a better job at “promotion”. This became clear when some of the regulars on my Facebook page noted that they didn’t know I had a blog. *Takes notes*

Or as my girl Trudy Susan would say, “Vee…..

* Inspiration is everywhere, and a blog post doesn’t always have to be a page long.  I try to be as concise as possible while providing as much information as I can in my posts, but I can definitely work incorporating shorter posts. It’ll also be less work for me.

* This is not new, but whether you blog recreationally or as a career, it takes time, effort, consistency and dedication. Keep at it.

I’m truly happy that I decided to hop on this challenge. In addition to all the wonderful lessons, my blog traffic has more than doubled! Thank you all for taking the time to visit my blog, read my posts and then come back for more. I’m truly humbled, and I’m always open to feedback.

I’ve also discovered a lot of new blog/bloggers. Shout out to my cheering squad and fellow blogging challengers ToBnatural, Naturally Supreme  and Naturally TN. We made it y’all!

I’m taking a well earned rest day tomorrow :)Until next time

Hey sis, thank you. Girlllll, that’s the part I dread the most but it can really make or break the post.
I had that concern as well, I don’t just want to blog just to do a post, it has to be valuable in some way.

Congrats on making it, e-sis. And you ain’t neva lied about the editing and pictures. Those often take longer than writing the actual post for me lol

I was going to ask you about traffic but you already addressed it. I’ve noticed that when I blog more regularly traffic goes up. But I’m worried that I won’t have something to say every single day. I don’t want to post just to post, ya know?
