Thank you to Target for sponsoring this post. As usual, all opinions are honest and my own.

Despite the fact that the official first day of summer was only two days ago, the heat here in Dallas has already crossed the 100° mark. That’s an obvious sign that summer 2016 is going to be a long and hot one. I can’t swim (very well), but that does not mean I can’t hang out by the pool and dip my feet in the water in an effort to stay cool.

With 4th of July quickly approaching, pool parties and festivities are a given. As part of my collaboration with Target, I wanted to share how you can quickly go from poolside to party, while beating the heat and still looking great.

Target has a huge selection of swimwear to cater to all body shapes and sizes. They are all about encouraging women to shake off body insecurities and not letting anything get in the way of having fun in our swimsuits.
As a child of the tropics, I was immediately drawn to the this tropical print halter one-piece. It is super comfy and fits amazingly well. You look great and feel comfortable whether you decide to hang out poolside or  choose to cool down with a swim.

As you can probably tell by now, I am a huge fan of kimonos. To quickly transition from poolside to day party or picnic, this cool and casual look with shorts is perfect. I love the vibrant pop of color from this loose and flowy knit tank top, paired with the kimono. what-to-wear-to-pool-party-veepeejayOf course, you can wear the top without the kimono if you prefer. I like adding the kimono because it also serves as a quick cover-up. If you’re like me and you tend to get cold from the blasts of the AC unit, this is perfect.

Love the swimsuit and the yellow top! The colors are a lot of fun. My last couple suits have been from Target, and the cover really well.

Yes they do. As soon I slipped this one it was perfect. No big on the top, small on the bottom issues like I have with some other swimsuits. Thanks Eva.

I’m loving it all! The swimsuit is super cute and perfect for me to hide this stomach (sigh!) and yes, I love kimonos. I only have one LOL but I’d like to get a couple more this year. The colors in the one you’re wearing go great with denim… that’s how I wear mine- a simple solid top and jeans.

Really cute, I’m a lover of Target so that is a no brainer for me. Due to all of these #fatsnacks and not enough gym time I might need to invest in my first one piece. I love the bold tropical colors in yours.
