It’s that time of year when we have lots of places to go and little time to do our hair. But we still want to be cute…and elegant, right? I’ve got you covered.
This year Shea Moisture added a few new collections to the hair care line, one of them being the Jamaican Black Castor Oil Collection.

Shea Moisture JBCO Collection Review

I used the entire line to achieve this easy, elegant holiday. I love updo styles and I think this time of the year they are especially fitting.
Truth be told, I don’t have the best luck with rods, so I decided to use my trusty milkshake straws from my straw set to add some curl to my ends. Yep, you can use straws to curls your ends.

Tip: Cut straws in half to make them more comfortable to sleep in.

I was really pleased with the results! I used my favorite Bobby Pins to pin up the back for added elegance 🙂
And as usual, I recorded the entire process. I have a lot of fun putting this video together so I hope you enjoy.

Do you like this style? Feel free to PIN IT 🙂

Love your curls! And so dark too! I have really thin hair so no matter how much I try to grow it, it won’t =(

Your hair looks AMAZING! My mom wears her hair in a similar style but it isn’t quite that long yet. We both use Shea Moisture in our hair and I LOVE it! My hair is a mixture of two hair types so it’s often hard for me to find products that work. Shea Moisture is PERFECTION <3

I love it, it looks so nice especially with that dress. Now, let’s talk about this dress though…you look stunning in it! I’ve been wearing crochet braids and I think this will be my winter protective style of choice. No fuss, no muss which is a huge plus with two little girls LOL

Ver pretty updo! I wear my locs curled 95% of the time. I’m a big fan of updos too. I will have to see what I can do now that I have shorter hair.

I’ll be testing out straws on my sister in laws hair for the holidays. You know I may need further instructions. LOL
