Last evening, I attended the Dallas Launch Party for Luster’s You-be Natural Keratin Strengthening and Conditioning System.
According to their website, the system:
- Conditions and strengthens hair whether curly, wavy or straight
- Allows for easy transition/flexibility between curly and straight styles
- Great for transitioning out of chemical straighteners
- Provides flawless straight styles
- Provides smooth and frizz free curly styles
- Smoothes hair & eliminates frizz (any style)
- Repairs and strengthens damaged hair
- Promotes healthy hair growth
- Makes hair humidity resistant

My friend Bella Kinks was host for part of the evening which included a hair showcase, product education session, mini-makeovers, mini-manicures, massage station & a photo booth.
The models at the event all received the treatment which includes a shampoo, conditioner, shine serum, moisturizing spray and a de-frizzing creme. The system which retails for $29.99 is heat activated, therefore users have the option of wearing their hair in its curly state or straightening it after use.

Overall, the evening was an informative, well planned, fun one. My curlfriends and I had a really great time.

I installed some medium sized twists last Friday and I’ve just been pinning them up. For the event, I did one of my signature styles…the “Twisted updo, Twist out Bangs“. It’s a fail safe style, so why not?
Photo booth shenanigans |
Of course, there was tons of photo booth fun!

Until next time
lol..girl. I didn’t even get a chance to sit in it.
I might have been the reason for your confusion..sorry. From what they said, the “keratin system” part of it allows you to wear it straight and then go back to curly as much as you want (within a period of time). The heat activates the keratin. I’ve seen reviews of person using it for everyday styling with no additional heat involved.
Man, that massage chair is calling my name…
Unless I’m misunderstanding here, if the system is heat activated, then these don’t sound like try wash-n-go products. So if someone wanted to rock their curly hair, I guess they would have to sit under a dryer? Sounds like a hassle. I’ll have to research a bit more. I’m sure I overlooked something.
