This conversation and my attendance at the NABJ Convention 2016 is sponsored by AT&T.

Sharing inspiration online has always been an integral part of the VeePeeJay platform. The decision to do so was a no-brainer for me because the bottom line is that people need it, and it costs me nothing to share it. With everything that has been happening lately, inspiration & positivity can provide an “escape” for many who may be feeling hopeless and overwhelmed.

To be honest, sometimes I don’t intentionally set out to inspire people with certain posts, many times I’m just sharing bits of my own experiences.

However, when I get comments like these on posts , it’s a constant reminder that  “you never know who you’re inspiring”. inspired-mobility-veepeejay-dallas-blogger

Two weeks ago I attended AT&T’s Inspired Mobility session at the Blogging While Brown. I first learned about #InspiredMobility at the previous year’s conference and of course, I was excited about it. For the second year in a row, Michelle Smith, Director of PR & U.S. Diversity at AT&T, and Jason Caton, AT&T’s Faith & Mobility Expert) led the #InspiredMobility discussion.

So what is #InspiredMobility?

AT&T Inspired Mobility is a conversation about how people are using mobile technology to connect with their faith or inspiration.

Inspiration is no longer just analog.  People are picking up their mobile devices to connect with it, and it has never been more popular.  In 2016, the dialogue moves forward to explore the many ways people are using their devices to enrich themselves and the lives of others no matter where they are.

During the conference, we shared our thoughts about using mobility to inspire. If you’ve been following me for any length of time, you know that I’m open about my faith and I often share inspirational content that I feel will resonate with my community. Here’s a bit of what I shared at the Inspired Mobility session about using mobility to share my faith, as captured by SocaMom.

While in DC, I also got the opportunity to connect and share even more inspiration with the AT&T crew and some of my fellow bloggers over dinner.Inspired-Mobility-ATT-NABJNAHJ-veepeejay

Next week we get to continue the #InspiredMobility conversation as I head back to DC to attend the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) convention, thanks to AT&T.

It will be my first time at NABJ, which will be held in conjunction with NAHJ (National Association of Hispanic Journalists), so I’m really looking forward the experience of being there, and of course learning, networking, and sharing. This is just a sneak peek of some of the amazing speakers and panelists.

I’m also really looking forward to the exclusive chat and meet & greet session with Rev Run, Hip-Hop Pioneer, and Digital Inspiration Guru.

Rev Run will be part of an intimate chat with Black Enterprise’s Alfred Edmond, Jr. about how he shares his “Words of Wisdom” from his unconventional pulpit with a congregation of more than 5 million social media followers. The session will also preview  brand new research from AT&T.

Needless to say, next week will be an exciting one. You can follow the conversation and my journey on social media via the hashtags #NABJNAHJ16 or #InspiredMobility.
