I thought it would be a fun (and a great way to share more of me) to link up with Ashley & Neely for Sunday Social. I met Neely a week ago at a local blogging event and she’s super sweet.
Each week Sunday Social participants answer 5 questions. Here are this week’s questions.
1. What is the most difficult thing you’ve been through?
In this post, I mentioned that my skin was acting up partly because of some sad news I’ve recently received. The past few weeks/months have been pretty rough for me. Within the last 3 months, I lost one of my Grandmothers and an Aunt. My Aunt’s death was especially difficult because it was so sudden.
While I never take my loved ones for granted, I’m even more committed to make everyday count and to “give people their flowers while they are alive”. It’s been difficult for me, but God has been faithful, and I know he will provide the comfort and strength we need to go on.
My last birthday was definitely one of the best. My husband surprised me with a weekend trip to Shreveport, Louisiana and it was so much fun. Whenever we go to a new city, we love to be “touristy”. While in Shreveport, we visited the Louisiana Boardwalk, took a cruise of the Red River, attended the local Chinese festival, ate of some of the popular local hot spots, and had a really great time.
3. What has been your favorite thing you’ve done in your own city?
Hmm, that’s a tough one or maybe I just can’t remember. We try to get out a lot and explore Dallas (we’re from Grenada), so it’s always a lot of fun to find new and exciting spots. White Rock Lake is definitely one of our faves. We spend a lot of weekend evenings there 🙂
4. What is your idea of the perfect date night?
Hmmm….now this one is a tough one. I’ll go with movie nights and picnics by the lake 🙂
5. Have you ever been to a blogging conference? If so which one(s)? If not, do you want to?
I haven’t been to a blogging conference, yet. I had plans to attend Blogging While Brown this year but I had to change my plans. For starters, I do want to attend Blogalicious in San Antonio this November.

Ditto on the beauty that is you in your pics. I’ll take question #3: I am new to the city I am. In my hometown of Brooklyn, NY, my favorite thing to was go to Prospect Park for a run, a picnic, listen to live music or just hang out on the lawn. That’s my honest answer behind shopping! In my new city… so far it has been going for runs in the local park but I need to get out more.
I used to live in Austin. Love Texas. White Rock Lake looks beautiful. I’ve never heard of Blogalicious so I’ll have to look that up – especially since it’s in Austin.

I have to agree with everyone, I love the first picture of you. You look very happy! Date night by the lake looks romantic and peaceful. Great way to get in touch with nature and the each other 🙂
