Memorial Day weekend is here which means that it’s (un)officially summer. Although the weather here in Dallas has been warm for the last few weeks, I’m still excited for “official summer”. As a island girl (If this is your first time reading my blog, I was born in Grenada) summer is my favorite time of the year.

By nature, I love bright, vibrant colors. I guess they remind me of the tropical colors and blue waters of my island home. While I don’t need an excuse to wear color, during the summer I don’t hold back. From my nails to my clothing, as far as I’m concerned the brighter, the better.

I intentionally seek out the brightest nail polish and lip colors, as well as the most colorful clothing and accessories.

Of course, as I prep for summer there are some essentials that I always have on hand. For starters, I can’t be baring my feet and toes if they aren’t in tip top shape. Exfoliating and moisturizing are extra important during the summer, and that’s not just for my feet, but my face and body as well.

Since I spend a lot of time outside, sunglasses, sunscreen and a moisturizer with SPF are must haves as well.

Of course, no summer is complete without snacks.  It is no secret that I am huge snacker, and during the summer I tend to snack even more, because let’s face it, sometimes it’s just too hot for food. So snacks like Weight Watchers® new ice cream products (which are available at Walmart here in Dallas) that keep you cool, are delicious and allow you to make a smarter choice are a win in my book.
