Vashti: I unknowingly transitioned for 3 months. In my mind, I was just not getting a relaxer. I didn’t realize there was a term associated with that process until later on. After 3 months, I could not or rather did not know how to deal with the two textures. I made the decision to big chop in August 2009.
LEI Lady Mag: Did you have any fears or were you fearless? If apprehensive, how did you overcome your fears?
Vashti: I was a bit apprehensive only because I wasn’t sure how I’d look with no really short hair. As silly as it sounds, I thought my head too small for the “no hair” look 🙂 My mind was quickly changed once I saw the results of my big chop. I felt so free!
