I hope you had a really great Sunday. As I was settling in for some Sunday evening (after church, lunch and a little shut eye πŸ™‚ ) relaxation, I came upon a video about oil pulling in my Youtube feed. It’s that video that serves as the inspiration for today’s post.

It’s no secret that I love Coconut oil. Not only is it great for hair and skin, but it has internal benefits as well. I use Coconut oil a lot in my cooking, but I also use it for Oil Pulling.

What is oil pulling you ask? Well, here’s a handy infographic that I found here, that explains it very well.

I’ve been doing oil pulling for a while and I can definitely see the difference.Β For starters, my “morning breath” is a lot fresher. Is that TMI? Sorry….. πŸ™‚

I’ll admit that when I first heard about oil pulling, I thought “umm….. O_o”, but trust me it works…when I’m consistent. I also noticed my teeth getting whiter, and shinier and my gums also feel stronger if that makes sense.

I do it first thing in the morning using Coconut oil. I’ve tried it with Sunflower oil but I prefer the taste of Coconut oil. Coconut oil also has antibacterial properties.

I’ll recommend staying occupied while doing it to help pass the time. I do my oil pulling sometimes during my morning devotions.

I’ve also noticed that my skin acts a lot better when I do oil pulling consistently. There are reports of oil pulling being a great internal detox so that may have something to do with it, but it is definitely a keeper for me.

Have you tried oil pulling?Β

Any suggestions on the best carrier oil? I’ve heard tee tree, but I can’t get past the smell… ;(

Wow! I never would have thought of trying anything like this. I’d never even heard of it until now. Really informative and intriguing. Gotta run out and get two jars of coconut oil now!

I know there are recommended oils because of their properties. I guess you can use any oil to see how it works.

It’s funny you wrote about this because I was researching oil pulling after I saw a video by HeyFranHey talking about it.
