Over the almost 5 hour long event, over 200 women, (men) and girls had a chance to mingle, eat, win LOTS of awesome giveaways (including a 5 day, 4 night all expense-paid trip to Mexico!) and talk healthy hair. There were also sessions about healthy eating, self defense demonstrations, and one brave lady even did her big chop at the event! Jenell also shared a lot about her journey, goals and website and graciously answered everyone’s questions.
Let me just tell you that the swagbags were “niceeee”. There were also vendors selling hair products, t-shirts and accessories and two of the vendors actually debuted their lines at the event. How awesome is that?!
As mentioned in this post, I redid my mini twists and came up with this quick updo for the event. I call it the “grab, fold & pin” because that’s exactly what I did. I was very pleased with the outcome of this 5 minute style and it was perfect for the the hot but fun day that I had. ☺
