Earlier today, I watched a live broadcast of the funeral service for a popular radio personality back home (Grenada). There were tributes, poems, songs etc and everyone had so many nice things to say about the gentleman that passed away. I must admit, it was really touching to see the outpouring of support from the entire island, because he really did make an impact on everyone…
Every time someone dies, I am reminded about how fleeting life is and the fact that is world is not my home. But I’m also reminded how important it is to show appreciation/love to people we care about while they are still alive.
I once read a quote that said “Flowers are no use to dead people.” This is a fact! They would not be able to see them, smell them or appreciate them!
I try my best to “give people their flowers while they are still alive” because once they’re gone I won’t get a chance to say all the things I needed to say….
“Flowers” can be literal or figurative. It could be saying how much you appreciate someone, it could be showing (and saying) thank you to someone who touched your life or it could just be telling someone what a good job they’re doing and how proud you are of them.

Whatever it is, do it while they are alive! As for me, I’ll take my “flowers” now please!

Until next time…

Girl, you could not have said it better. This is so true.
Very often; too often we take people for granted.
Keep up the good work. 🙂
