I LOVE adventure! I’ve been wanting to visit the Dallas Farmers Market (DFM) for a while but never made it.

So last Saturday, I rose bright and early and headed to the Farmers Market in downtown Dallas with a friend. When we arrived, it was still early (around 8:45am) but the “market” was abuzz with activities. Local farmers and vendors with sprawling displays of fresh produce were ready for the day.

As we perused the sheds (there were four in all), we were greeted by enthusiastic vendors with knives in hand, ready to offer you a slice of their produce. In the first few minutes, we sampled tomatoes, peaches, watermelon, pineapples, grapes and even HONEY!
Whew! Next time, I’ll be sure to bring an empty stomach. 🙂

Fresh picked peach….yum!

Overall, the experience was great. The DFM reminded me of my childhood, when I went to the early morning market with my mom. (I grew up in the Caribbean).  I LOVED the fact that I could get fresh, organic, locally grown items for a great price.

At the end of the “adventure” we left with 4lbs of honey, strawberries, raw sunflower seeds, grapes and FULL stomachs 🙂

I’ll definitely be doing this again!
